Q:
What makes Chameleon™ Solar Genesis™ Grow Lights different from traditional High Intensity Discharge grow lights like the metal halide or the high pressure sodium?
A:
Chameleon™ Solar Genesis™ Grow Lights produce light much more efficiently than traditional High Intensity Discharge grow lights. Traditional High Intensity Discharge grow lights generate a tremendous amount of heat which in turn must be removed to keep the plants within normal temperatures necessary for healthy plant growth.
Q:
Why is the additional heat that traditional High Intensity Discharge grow lights generate such a big deal?
A:
Temperature and humidity play a big role in plant development. Excessive heat reduces the amount of moisture in the air & soil (including nutrients) which are essential for healthy plant growth. Climate control is also an additional expense that affects your bottom line.

Q:
What is the difference in power consumption between The Chameleon™ Solar Genesis&trade II Grow Light and a traditional 1000w High Intensity Discharge grow light?
A:
The Chameleon™ Solar Genesis™ II Grow Light draws approximately 50% less power than traditional 1000w High Pressure Sodium High Intensity Discharge grow lights.
Q:
How long will Chameleon™ Solar Genesis™ Grow Lighting last in comparison to traditional High Intensity Discharge grow lighting?
A:
Chameleon™ Solar Genesis™ Grow Lighting is designed to last approximately 30,000 hours. Traditional High Intensity Discharge grow lighting is advertised to last 20,000 hours but most growers replace them annually to bulb & ballast degradation.
Q:
What is the optimum distance above the plant canopy for optimum plant growth?
A:
The closer you can get the grow light to the plant canopy the more energy you transfer to the plant. Chameleon™ Solar Genesis™ Grow Lighting generates such a small amount of heat it can be placed with the glass directly touching the plant canopy. That would be disastrous utilizing traditional High Intensity Discharge grow lighting due to the tremendous amount of heat generated by those units.

Q:
How does The Chameleon™ Solar Genesis™ VI - LED/ Plasma-HID Grow Light compare to other LED grow lights currently on the market?
A:
Most currently available LED Grow Lights contain two frequencies (colors) and claim that the other frequencies within the spectrum recognized for optimum plant growth are of very little value to the plant so they are ignored. Typical LED Grow Lights also have a fixed output with no control over the amount of each frequency (color) in relation to each other. Research indicates that seedlings and plants in the vegetative stage benefit from a higher percentage of light within the blue spectrum whereas plants in the bloom (or budding) stage benefit from a higher percentage of light in the red spectrum. The ability to shift the color of light from blue to red can be also beneficial when you are ready to move the plant into the bloom (or budding) stage.

Q:
I read (on your website) that The Chameleon™ Solar Genesis™ VI LED/ Plasma-HID Grow Light had the ability to adjust the light into different colors. How does that work?
A:
Different species of plants utilize different colors of light for photosynthesis. Having the ability to adjust the colors gives us the ability to optimize plant growth during the different stages of the plants life cycle and also allows us to maximize plant growth per plant species.
Q:
How else can The Chameleon™ Solar Genesis&trade VI - LED/ Plasma-HID Grow Light be used in commercial applications?
A:
Utilizing Chameleon™ Solar Genesis™ VI - LED/ Plasma-HID Grow Lighting in an outdoor greenhouse we can augment the sun on a rainy or overcast day to extend the growing day and growing season (manipulate photoperiod). We can also assist the commercial farmer by adjusting the color and photoperiod to force flowering (budding).
